Schedule an Appointment with Financial Aid
To apply for federal financial aid, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Apply as early as possible to ensure timely notification of your financial aid eligibility and to be considered for all possible funding.
Create your Federal Student Aid ID
Make sure you and your contributors create a StudentAid.gov account as soon as possible. Watch a video on creating a StudentAid.gov account.

Once your FAFSA is completed, you can make an appointment with a Financial Aid Advisor to receive your package.
Earn Credit for Prior Work Experience
Monroe knows that learning doesn’t only take place in the classroom. With Prior Learning Credit options, we’ll show you how to turn life experience into a head start toward your degree by translating it into credits. We use an evaluation called a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) to carefully look at everything on your resume.
Our Credit Predictor will tell you in 5 minutes how you might to save time and money earning your degree.
Our Prior Learning Accelerator is a more detailed PLA questionnaire to turn your knowledge and expertise into college credits.
Net Price Calculator
Monroe's cost is just one part of the equation. Get a sense of how affordable Monroe can be for you. Use the Net Price Calculator to estimate your cost of attendance and eligibility for financial aid.
Things to know:
- You'll pay a flat fee for tuition, which enables you to register for 12 to 18 credit hours per semester. Most classes are 3 credit hours.
- You may begin filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on October 1. You must reapply for financial aid every year.
- When working with your financial aid advisor, you will explore all federal and institutional aid opportunities.
