Ana Dorogan
"There are a lot of activities around campus that allow students to find their true passions."
Ana Dorogan is the Director of Admissions Operations at Monroe. She received her Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Finance summa cum laude in 2011. She was inducted into the Alfa Beta Gama society, was a member of the National Black MBA Association, won first place in a Leaders of Tomorrow case competition, and was the staff advisor for Monroe’s Enactus team.
Ana, a first-generation American college student from Moldova, was active in the KGS Small Business Development Center and worked closely with the Business Improvement District of New Rochelle. While there, she helped develop a business plan for a Farmers Market in New Rochelle, which is still going on every summer on the Public Library lawn.
“There were a lot of real world possibilities regardless of whether you were a local or international student,” stated Ana. “It didn’t matter where you came from. There were many ways to get engaged and be involved in the community.”
For students looking to get their foot in the door, Ana’s best advice is to live in the moment and take advantage of all of the opportunities Monroe University has to offer. “There are a lot of activities around campus that allow students to find their true passions. The schedule encourages everyone to try something new, from getting a part-time job to volunteering.
