Chevelle Allison-McIntosh
"It was because of my internship through Monroe’s connections that my career took off, and I was able to pursue my dream of working in law."
Chevelle Allison-McIntosh was raised in Jamaica and moved to Brooklyn after high school. Attending college on the New Rochelle campus allowed her to enjoy the typical American college experience while being close to home and her family. She said the small campus vibe, tight-knit community, and the support she received helped her feel at home in new surroundings.
Today, Chevelle is a law graduate at The Legal Aid Society, a job she started during an internship through Monroe. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice cum laude at Monroe in 2011 and went on to earn her law degree at New England Law in 2018. While in law school, she was selected for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Pro Bono Honor Roll. She credits the professors who often shared their personal stories of working in the field for inspiring her career in law.
