Hip Torres

THE CULINARY INSTITUTE OF NEW YORK AT MONROE HELPED ME GET TO WHERE I AM TODAY.”

Hipolito “Hip” Torres was born and raised in a Dominican household in Queens, N.Y. After receiving a scholarship through the Careers through Culinary Arts Program ( C-CAP), he graduated from The Culinary Institute of New York at Monroe University.  He was always drawn towards the media and the artful side of food rather than working the hotline.

Since graduating from Monroe, Torres works as a freelance photographer and has photographed food and portraits for StarChefs, Savannah Magazine, Plate Mag, private clients, and lifestyle brands. He also works as an Assistant Food Stylist where he tests recipes and works behind the scenes of cooking shows for Buzzfeed’s Tasty, Netflix, and Food Network’s Chopped.
