Kayandra Harris pursued her associate and bachelor degrees in nursing through the STEP program, which allowed her to gain nursing experience as a pediatric registered nurse at St. Barnabas Hospital while taking classes and studying.

Kayandra Harris earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing summa cum laude in 2019. Today, she is thriving as a registered nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where she has won numerous awards in leadership, clinical excellence, and academic achievement.
Kayandra also pays it forward and stays connected to Monroe by helping new students as a peer tutor and mentor.
