Lorwib Liriano
“I’ve always been interested in being a positive force for youth development."
Lorwib Liriano is a bilingual clinician at Upper Manhattan Health, working to make a difference in children’s lives. She earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in human services from Monroe in 2014, then went on to earn a master’s of social work from Fordham University in 2018.
While at Monroe, Lorwib attended a job fair which led to an internship at Westhab Inc. Eventually, Westhab offered her a full-time position as a clinician. “I’ve always been interested in being a positive force for youth development,” Lorwib said. “My goal is to use both degrees to help put the younger generation on a positive path.”
When asked what the Monroe difference was, Lorwib, who grew up in the Dominican Republic and New York City, noted the many resources Monroe has within the community to help students succeed.
“When coming to Monroe, find the person you connect with the most and ask questions,” she said. “People want to help.”
