Renso Jimenez is the first member of his family to graduate from college and his journey to higher education is a dream come true for him and his family.
Born and raised in New York, his parents, who are from the Dominican Republic, didn't go to college and he saw how that impacted them. They pushed and motivated him to pursue college and become a professional.
"Classes weren’t always easy, but Monroe offers plenty of opportunities for advice and mentorship. The Academic Center for one-on-one tutoring and professors who are willing to help are just some of the ways I was able to stay motivated. I can be the person I was meant to be thanks to Monroe. I’ve not only grown at Monroe, but it has also matured me as a person and has helped me become more responsible and independent.”
For Renso, the professors at Monroe are all so exceptional because of their work in the field. “My professors are attorneys, FBI agents and police officers. Renso is graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Monroe.
