Originally from Jamaica, Tia Faye-Cowell says she enjoyed the international vibe at the school. “I was in college to change my life, and I had people from all over the world helping me and making me feel welcome,” Tia said. “I always felt that I belonged.”
While working toward her bachelor's in health services administration, Tia had an internship at the Veterans Health Administration Hospital in the Bronx and was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Her experiences encouraged her to go further, and she’s now the proud owner of a master’s degree in leadership and administration. Currently, she works as a member services applicant provider at Amida Care, a health insurance company in NYC.
Looking ahead, Tia wants to broaden her career to medical administration in the hopes of helping more people receive proper health care.
