We know that you have many questions concerning admissions requirements, pre-requisites, taking the TEAS, transfer credits, and the steps involved in applying. Our Information Sessions are designed to give you a chance to have all of them answered and learn a bit more about a typical day in the life of a Monroe Nursing student.

The Curriculum
It is expected that students will bring considerable academic experience to the program, but we will thoroughly review your transcript and guide you through the process. Following are pre-requisites for entry:
- Anatomy & Physiology I and II
- Chemistry
- Microbiology
- English I and II
- Introduction to Psychology
- Psychology across the Lifespan (or other Psychology elective)
- Introduction to Sociology
- Statistics
- Speech
- Clinical Nutrition
- Introduction to Health Care Policy
- Introduction to Health Informatics
- Race, Ethnicity and Health
- Global Health Issues.
Nursing Theory Influences on Today’s Practice
This blended/hybrid course is designed to focus upon the foundation and evolution of professional nursing theories that guide nursing practice and scholarship in today's health care. Students explore the context of theory development and the overall significance of various nursing theories, with an emphasis on the analysis and evaluation of their use in day-to-day practice.
Application Process
- Attend a Nursing Information session
- Register and take the TEAS Exam
- Make an appointment and meet with an admissions advisor
- Submit the following THREE admissions items:
- Online application, including a personal statement of 350-500 words
- High school diploma or GED
- All high school and college transcripts
- Receive notice of admission from the School of Nursing
- Complete Financial Aid
- Complete a background check
- Complete a physical examination
- Register for classes
